The Ottoman Empire, originating in the 13th century, began as a small Anatolian state founded by Osman I. Within a span of two centuries, it expanded significantly, encompassing vast territories across three continents, including much of southeastern Europe, western Asia, and northern Africa. The empire’s zenith came during the 16th and 17th centuries under the rule of Suleiman the Magnificent.
