Investigative inquiries by the American TV network CBS News and Swiss SRF affirm that human rights are openly disregarded within the supply chains of coca production manufacturers. Cocoa prices are at unprecedented highs, yet numerous farms employ children. The chocolate industry has persistently taken insufficient action on this matter for an extended period.

Nestlé, along with fellow chocolate titans Mars, Ferrero, and the maker of Milka, Mondelez, has faced public backlash for years. These corporations amass billions from chocolate, often at the detriment of cocoa farmers and their families. Numerous farmers endure poverty, compelling them to enlist their children into labor.
