Common sense – it’s something we all believe we have, something so simple and instinctual that it should guide us through life’s daily hurdles. But if common sense were so “common,” why do so many people seem to lack it? From baffling behavior on the roads to inexplicable decisions made by individuals in positions of authority, it becomes clear that common sense is anything but universal. In fact, its absence is often more noticeable than its presence.
At its core, common sense refers to sound judgment derived from experience and reasoning. Yet, in reality, many factors muddy the waters, making it harder for people to apply common sense in everyday situations.
